It is the honest truth that women face more societal stresses then men do when it comes to being active outdoors at night-time. I don’t think or worry about anything when I prepare to go for a walk. What I’m wearing, outside of weather condition, isn’t considered. What I take with me isn’t considered. All I think is about how keen I am to get some cool fresh air and stretch my legs. Unfortunately, the same mindset is not the case for many women due to our current societal state. What they wear, what they take, how long they’ll be, how far they’ll walk and where they can safely walk, is just a few of variables considered.

Hopefully in time this night culture is done away with and we can all equally bask in the calm moonlight free of distress and alarm. Until such a time, steps need to be made in safety, one’s confidence and consideration of others and their space.
